I spend the whole morning to make the back ready to receive the floor. In the afternoon Fetske and I put the floor in and make it fit. The underside is still not done, I was a bit enthusiastic to do that also today ;-)
After fitting I started cutting with the carbon, UD (a lot over the stringers also), peel ply, breadclout and breaderfoli.
Happy New year and a good sailing season

laminating the topside of the cockpit floor
Today we laminated the topside of the cockpit floor and I hope to do the bottom tomorrow, I have already cut the stringers for the underside. Normally we do panels in one go, back and front, but the space doesn't allow that at this moment. Nico gave me a visit to pick up his foils and he was never been in the new barn so he wanted to see how the main hull looked. I made also a picture of the escape hatch what I did yesterday.

done a lot but no pictures
I started today to laminated the top and side extra layer for the front beam bulkhead. I then measured where the front escape hatch had to come and cut the round hole. Next thing was to make a cut to the outside where front beam mounts have to come. I only cut next to the bulkhead so I can exactly measure where the rest must be cut. In the afternoon I started with the cockpit floor. After some measuring and cutting I glued the parts together with PU glue. The vacuum good be turned off before I went home.

turned the boat upright again
After unpacking I turned the boat upright again and was thinking what to do next. After some looking around, It starts to look a boat now, I prepared for the extra laminate for bulkhead six. I will do this tomorrow and do only the deck and the side and later in the week I do the underside parts. After studying the book I decided to do the floor. I have to measure the back part because this is a little longer.

The last outside foam covered with carbon
Today we started at 16.00 and finished at 19.30 with laminating because it took me a little bit longer to prepare and we decided to do the extra laminated on bulkhead 6 to do the same time. We have to do this piece on the other side to. It was snowing outside today and cold so we made a tent over the boat so it stays warmer.

Laminated the bottom
We put some meters UD carbon on the bottom, 9 pieces side by side 4 cm wide a bit wider than specs but the 4 cm wide was the only UD I had and it was relative cheap. This was a job for two persons because the UD wants to roll up. The first one starts to roll the UD over the bottom and the second one goes directly behind with a roller and epoxy to wet it out. After every role I used the squishy. We then did overlay the the UD with a layer 250 gr 0/90. In the middle we put an extra layer of 400 gr 0/90. After that we did some lunch and I than started with some prep work of the side middle section.

unpacked the middle and prepared for the bottom
Started with unpacked the work of yesterday and it look ok. I then prepared the bottom to cut the peel ply away where the extra layers of carbon have to be laid. UD with one layer 250gr 0/90 on top and in the middle a extra layer 400gr 0/90. Al the other stuff is cut to and the vacuum back is already clued to the underside.

laminated the middle section
I laminated today on my own and did the middle section in the morning. After the lunch I did some tape on the daggerboard case and the beam bulkhead. This was a piece what had to be done later because the other time it was on the underside of the daggerboard case. After that I cut some UD to put on the bottom for the next laminating job.

laminated Inside of daggerboard case to the bottom
We first put Thrill Seeker in the inside storage, it was standing in front of the barn because there was no room when we first brought it. It is now standing dry so I can do some maintenance later before the sailing season starts.
Before lunch I unpacked the nose and it looked very good. My dad was also coming for a quick look. After the lunch I started to make the daggerboard case airtight on the inside so I could laminate in the case and put vacuum on it. I put two layers in the case lapping outside over the bottom with staggered edges. After putting the vacuum on I started to cut all the piece for the middle section so I can do this Friday.

Laminated the front
Yesterday Santa arrived early this year, he had gone the whole way from New Zealand to pick up some presents for Nico and us. After that there was not much time left so I only did some little sanding. Today I started with sanding of the bottom of the nose what had some high and low spots. After that was finished I started with cutting the breeder Foley and cloth and went for some lunch. After the lunch Fetske came to help to laminated the front.

Laminated the back
Today we laminated the back as promised yesterday, we started at 11.20 and ended at 15.00. We had three piece carbon of roughly 2,2m we put at the back in vertical order. It was a little bit difficult because you have to walk around and climb on the lather to do the side withs was high in the air. The vacuum back was quickly done, then we did some late lunch and build a tent over the back to keep it warm. Fetske did leave for home and I did put some putty and foam on some low spots on the front.

Ready for laminating the back

put some HD foam in the front bottom

lots of putty
First I turned the boat more on its side and I then sanded the bottom. In the afternoon I did putty the the complete hull half. At the back there was a shallow in the bottom because the foam did flex to much to the outside. I corrected that with strap and some piece of wood. After that I put some putty on the shallow and laid some carbon over it so that it will stay this way.

Turned on its side
Yesterday we laminated the other half of the deck and today after the unpacking we turn the boat on its side with the two of us. It was going smooth and very controlled. After that Fetske did leave so I could start to sand with the longboards. 10 minutes later my friend Reijer gave me a visit so I had a little break. I will turn the boat tomorrow more on its side so I can do the bottom easier.
