lots of putty

First I turned the boat more on its side and I then sanded the bottom. In the afternoon I did putty the the complete hull half. At the back there was a shallow in the bottom because the foam did flex to much to the outside. I corrected that with strap and some piece of wood. After that I put some putty on the shallow and laid some carbon over it so that it will stay this way.

Turned on its side

Yesterday we laminated the other half of the deck and today after the unpacking we turn the boat on its side with the two of us. It was going smooth and very controlled. After that Fetske did leave so I could start to sand with the longboards. 10 minutes later my friend Reijer gave me a visit so I had a little break. I will turn the boat tomorrow more on its side so I can do the bottom easier.

laminated the front deck

I laminated the front deck on my own, because Fetske was away with her girlfriends. So I decided to do not suds a big part. I started at 12 o'clock and I had the vacuum on it at 15.00. It was going easier than expected and had directly a vacuum of 0,95 and I screwed it back til 0,8 mbar
After that I build a sort of tent to get the temperature up.

routed the window

Today I did the after top laminat of the daggerboard and filled the hole partially were the HD putty did boil. The window mold we did do together because of the lengte and vertical. After we put it on the right place we screwed it on the foam so I could cut with a stanley knife two edges. The first one was right along the mold the second was with a thin batten against the mold also seen in a early post. This make the routing muts easier and you have a straight edge. The edges are no also rounded ready to laminate over it.

some prep work on the deck

Yesterday I had to work in the evening so my day was a little shorter to do some things and today our parents coming to visit so this day is also a little shorter. Yesterday I scraped and sanded the putty and put some reference lines on the deck. Today I laid some carbon in the daggerboard case and I taped the entrance bulkhead so that is easier with the vacuum and the tacky tape if I do the deck. I had a small misfortune withe HD putty on the back of the daggerboard case what started to boil and had to be removed.
