Glued the toilet parts together

I started to trim  the wash boards edges and they fit very nice and are very stiff because of the extra lip what I glued on it to better seal of the edges. I than trimmed the edges of the toilet panel. I now could mark the place where the toilet seat had to come. I drilled some holes where the bolts for the toilet seat have to come and put some glasfiber tubes in it. The hole for the bowl could now be cut out. When I was satisfied with the position of the bowl I routed the top where the bowl have to come so it will be flush with the top of the panel. I than glued them all together with some putty and put some screws in it to hold it in position and flat to wood panel. After a tea break I taped the bowl to the panel and put a tube in the back of the bowl with a extra piece of foam for the water inlet.

I started in the morning with taping the topside of the toilet rim where the top of the toilet panel rest on. I do this so the toilet will be removeable and only hold in place with some screws. After that was done I started with the top panel for the wash bowl to decide how to make it. I than cut it out of a piece of foam and made it fit. In the afternoon I made some glue flanges for the water ballast tank from foam triangles, I glued them in place with PU glue. I then laminated the wash bowl panel to put in a vacuum back and taped the glue flanges for the water ballast tank.

In the morning I did the other outside front beam mount. After the lunch we went to Thrill Seeker to strip the front inside. I dismantled the toilet bowl,  holding tank and some other small stuff so I could scrape the old paint of. A few months ago a both a second hand toilet Lavac bowl but when I picked it up it appeared I different model. This model was more oval and had no upper edge. The upper edge is handy normally to hold the water in the bowl when it is ruff. I then came with a idea to use this bowl as a mold because of the absence of the edge. From the bowl of Thrill Seeker I make a mold for the upper edge so I can glue it later on.

I started with the top rim of the carbon toilet bowl, when this is finished I can make the bowl mold fit for the rim. Further did I laminated one support of the stair step over with a layer of carbon and I laminated the underside of the foam piece between the kitchen top and the hand holds. I made also a picture of the toilet entrance with the plastic removed from the edges.

I started with the washboard to make it fit. It stays in one piece till it is laminated, it will be cut in three eagle parts later. When that was finished I started to make foam edges for the raised floor in the toilet room and glue them with PU glue to the sides. In the afternoon we laminated the edges over with some carbon. The next job was the top panel of the kitchen locker, we laminated this front and back. I finally sanded with a small longboard the toilet bowl almost round, it have to put some putty on it to get some imperfections away but that is for the next time.

I took a few hours off to spend some time on the toilet bowl mold. First I sanded it with a electric sander. I realised yesterday that I didn't need the rim of the original mold but only the bowl. I had filled the edge with putty to get the rest level. I now have cut away the rim and scraped of the putty so that I now have nice flat surface. As last I put a thin layer of putty on the foam to fill the imperfections. Further I did some small jobs like sanding and scraping some edges, making a foam panel for the raised toilet floor out of some small pieces glue together with PU glue.

I started with placing the lower step, it sits very tight so have to cut some off later. The little pieces still have to get some carbon but are already strong enough to stand on. I did some little work on the mold for the top off the toilet and I can put some packing tape on it for laminating later. I then glued some pieces of foam together to fill the underside of the toilet entrance, the same I did for the top to get a nice rounding. I glued this with some PU foam in place before lunch. After the lunch we glued a PVC pipe in place, This pipe will be used to hold the soft door. When that was dry we started with some putty to fill all the holes and edges and laminating over it.
Fetske did cut a the carbon wille a was busy so that saves a lot off time.

I had only the morning to do some things, so I did some filling in the toilet room. I filled a part of the daggerboard case and the back panel. This was the only part I did because you get the risk you thoughts your own filled work if you do a panel on the other side. I am also almost done with this batch of 5 kg filler so I have to buy new. The clear coat looks fantastic, I only had a pair little bad spots, bit too much epoxy, but they will be done when I do the final layers on the end when I have painted the toilet room. The rest of the time I did some sanding in the front.

In the morning we went to Thrill Seeker to give one side some anti fouling, we had to fold out a little that's why we only did one side. On the end of the day we did some little work on Thriller as the air vent, grinding of some carbon from the water bowl panel. The toilet bowl need some more hardening before I grind away the carbon on the edges, maybe tomorrow. Fetske did some touch up of paint on the rudder and boom of Thrill Seeker, I have them on this place because it is a little warmer.

Some pictures of my heavy weather jib setup, toilet door and Battle Sticks

It is a long time I put some pictures up again of some mods I did on my boat.
I have the heavy weather jib one year now and this year I used it a couple of time to get the boat more under controle and get some more comfort with stronger winds. Last week I did setup the long battle sticks the same way I had them on Thrill Seeker. We did put the toilet door in place, this time not with a zipper because that was not working.

I started with some frame work for the holding tank and the toilet seat to glue some foam triangles under, they are large fillets to laminate against. I than screwed the frames to the foam so they stay in place when laminating against it. I made also two triangles in the front to support the end panel of the mattress. We than laminated all the flanges with on layer biax. We also put some PVC tubes against  the kitchen locker and laminated them over. As final job we laminated the piece in place of the wash bowl what I did broke and I hope that the brake line will be smooth again.
