laminated the other bunk

Today we started with laminating the other bunk with extra layers. In the afternoon we went for shopping some hardware and supplies. We have the track for the outboard and some cars now so I can engineer that now.  I am still looking how to operate the bailers for the water ballast, if some one have ideas. Nico has some nice ideas but there are still some questions.
After the shopping I laminated the foam flanges  for the floor panel. The back and the sides have still to be done.

laminated the back floor panel

In the morning I started with making some foam stringers on the back to support the floor and to glue the floor later on. In the afternoon we laminated the floor panel with I glued together yesterday, I did put some HD foam in it on the place where the track of the outboard motor is coming. After that we taped the edges of back bunks, I rounded them yesterday to a radius of 15 mm. I rounded the traveler top also yesterday

Volvo Ocean Race Scheveningen

This weekend we went to Scheveningen to see the Volvo Ocean Race, this time no building pictures. My friend his yacht was laying in Scheveningen harbor so we could see the start from the water. We placed the pictures on Picasa and made some short movies

taped the work of yesterday

I taped the panel between the dagger board case and the bulkhead, with the 45 angle strips it looks very nice. The other piece I did laminated was the kitchen panel. It did not look so big job but it took me 2,5 hours to finish it.

various gluing and filling jobs

I started today to level the traveler bar, after that I drilled holes to fill them with HD putty for the mounting bolts for the traveler rail. The back trampoline tube did get some putty to. In the afternoon I cut some foam triangle strips to make nice corners and gluing strips. I then glued all the strip and I also filled the bow tube ends with putty and foam. With the last bit of putty I filled some low spots in the drilled holes.

taped the stern and placed a panel

The original plane was we did sail this weekend some races and BBQ but this I canceled because there were only three boats and the weather was also not so good, strong winds and some rain.
I started in the afternoon with gluing the panel between the daggerboard case and the bulkhead. The next job was to get some putty in the corners of the stern panel. I then put carbon tape in the corners.
After the tea break I put a mixture of HD putty and carbon in the corner under the traveler with a large radius so I can later laminate it over with UD carbon. I also grinded some access carbon around the port holes so the port holes do fit again. This was carbon what was sticking out from the trampoline tubes.

cut the stern panel to right length

I the morning I did cut the stern panel to the right height so that the top is at the same height as the deck now, after that I did cut all the carbon pieces so that is done already. In the afternoon we did go to our rigger to talk about the mast and some other stuff.

laminated the rudder web and some panels

Friday afternoon I opened some tubes on the bow, we had leave early to visit Fetske their parents.
Saturday morning I laminated the rudder web and after that we did leave for some sailing. Today we returned back in the late afternoon and we decided to laminate some panels and put some carbon around the bow tube, I put four layers around it because the storm stay will be attached to it.
